Terra Creative is me, Don Hajicek. That’s the super-short version.
The slightly longer short version is this: I’ve done a lot of creative stuff professionally. I started in the industry as a production artist, including some illustration here and there, spent many, many years as a print and web designer, copywriter, UI/US expert, art director, and creative director. I’m also a musician and a cook, and I occasionally throw some oil paint on a canvas or make some jewelry. I just love to make stuff.
But I have always been a photographer.
Photography and videography are not just a way for me to make money. These are also passions. As passions, they deserve to be pursued and embraced. That’s what I’m doing now. That’s what Terra Creative is all about.
So if you have a photo or video project, you should get a hold of me. I’m creative, professional, affordable, and mobile.

I've been taking pictures since I was old enough to be trusted with my father's old Leica. I must have been ten years old. The old man never let me use a light meter, insisting that I gauge my settings by eyeballing the sky. Of course, my photos were often under or over-exposed, because it's very difficult to make those sorts of judgments with any accuracy. There's a reason they make light meters. It did teach me about shutter speed, film speed, and aperture, though. These days, my camera does the calculating, of course, but it's helpful to know these things... and to break the rules to your advantage.
